LANGHORNE CREEK

Home to the oldest recorded Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the world and fifth-generation winemaking families, the fertile flood plains of Langhorne Creek produce some of South Australia's most premium wine grapes. Nestled between the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale only an hour from Adelaide, here you can sip wine floating above the vineyards in an architecturally-designed shipping container at Kimbolton Wines, tucked in a renovated stable dating back to 1866 at Bremerton Wines or drink in 160 years of history at Bleasdale.

ANGAS PLAINS ESTATE — A HELI LUNCH OF QUIET CHARM & COUNTRY LUXURY

Your HELI LUNCH journey begins long before your glass is poured.

As the blades lift into motion, you rise gently over the coastline—turquoise water brushing the sand at Sellicks Beach—before crossing the Fleurieu Peninsula’s wide, whispering plains. Or perhaps you drift over the undulating Adelaide Hills, where patchworks of orchards and forests unfold like an old story retold in sunlight. Either way, your flight becomes a kind of meditation—open sky, open land, open senses.

Then, nestled among the vineyards of Langhorne Creek, Angas Plains Estate appears: warm, inviting, quietly romantic. A family-owned winery where time moves unhurriedly, and hospitality feels like an embrace rather than a performance.

The rustic cellar door—set among sweeping lawns, old gums, and vines that have weathered decades of sun and wind—welcomes you with the charm of a place crafted by hands, heart, and heritage. Here, the wines are intimate in style: small-batch, expressive, shaped by French and American oak, and poured with genuine pride. Shiraz and Cabernet with depth; Chardonnay with elegance; each glass a reflection of the land it came from.

Lunch is a celebration of simple, honest pleasure. A Mediterranean-inspired menu—fragrant, colourful, crafted from local produce—arrives in generous, leisurely courses. Nothing hurried. Nothing forced. Just the flavours of the region, paired effortlessly with the estate’s award-winning wines.

On some afternoons, soft live music drifts across the lawn, mingling with the breeze and the laughter of guests sharing long lunches. The atmosphere is easy, sun-soaked, and warmly communal—yet your arrival by helicopter adds an undeniable sheen of luxury and quiet exclusivity.

At Angas Plains Estate, the indulgence isn’t loud.
It’s subtle.
It lingers.

It’s the savour of a glass held to the light.
The tranquillity of vineyards stretching to the horizon.
The feeling that you’ve stepped somewhere genuinely cared for.

Your helicopter waits nearby, patient and gleaming, ready to carry you through the sky once more—but for now, you stay a little longer, letting the moment breathe, letting the flavours settle, letting the landscape imprint itself on your memory.

A HELI LUNCH at Angas Plains Estate is not a spectacle—
it’s a gentle, beautiful escape.
And sometimes, that is the greatest luxury of all

Langhorne Creek — A Relaxed Escape with Heart, Heritage & Quiet Charm**

The moment your helicopter sweeps low over Langhorne Creek, the landscape softens into a patchwork of ancient vines and tranquil waterways. And there, tucked gently between them, sits Bremerton Wines—a place where time loosens its grip, stories run deep, and the art of unwinding is taken seriously.

Bremerton Wines Cellar Door in Langhorne Creek is one of the Fleurieu’s most inviting and beautifully presented wine destinations, set within a lovingly restored 1866 stone barn surrounded by vines, lawns and relaxed country charm. Family-owned and run by the Willson sisters, it offers a warm, authentic experience that feels both refined and wonderfully welcoming.

The cellar door is known for its award-winning premium wines, with guests able to enjoy guided tastings or settle in for a seated wine flight featuring a selection from Bremerton’s acclaimed Langhorne Creek range. From sparkling wines and vibrant whites to elegant rosé and characterful reds, the list showcases both classic varietals and more adventurous releases. Recent menu listings include wines such as Dulcie Sparkling Chardonnay/Pinot, Vermentino, Fiano, Bâtonnage Chardonnay, Racy Rosé, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Lagrein, Selkirk Shiraz and Walter’s Cabernet Sauvignon.

Food is a key part of the experience, with a regionally inspired lunch menu designed for long, leisurely afternoons. Offerings typically include gourmet pizzas, share platters, tasting plates and desserts, with a relaxed alfresco setting on the verandah or lawns making it ideal for couples, groups and families alike. The venue is also known for picnic-style enjoyment, lawn games and a laid-back atmosphere that encourages guests to linger.

Beyond wine, Bremerton has built a loyal following for its Willson Small Batch Gin, with guests able to enjoy a gin and tonic, a dedicated gin flight, and seasonal spirit-based serves such as limoncello and spritz-style cocktails. For beer lovers, the cellar door also offers Meechi Brewing Co craft beers, including options such as lager, pale ale and stout, making Bremerton a genuinely versatile stop for mixed groups

It’s the quiet luxury of simplicity done exceptionally well—
a place where you arrive by helicopter, but you relax like a local.

Thankyou Garry and Michele for making Cathy’s 60th Birthday and celebration one that we will never forget.

Your attention to detail and professional advice to coordinate the surprise arrival at Mollydooker Winery to pick up our children and then flight via coast to The Winehouse at Langhorne Creek for lunch, ensured Cathy’s surprise was memorable.

We had the best day and were able to relax and enjoy quality time as a family.

Without question it was a 5 Star experience.

Thanks again Garry

Regards

Langhorne Creek — Where Time Slows and the Landscape Breathes

Your helicopter slips south across the patchwork of the Fleurieu Peninsula, following the shimmer of rivers and the quiet sweep of farmland until Langhorne Creek opens beneath you like a secret plain. Here, where centuries of family craftsmanship meet the gentle rhythm of the lake winds, Lake Breeze rises from the vineyards—a serene, elegant refuge made for travellers who savour beauty.

As the rotors fall silent, the tranquility is instant. Rows of vines stretch towards the horizon, stirring softly under the cool breath that drifts from Lake Alexandrina. The Follett family's legacy feels present in every direction—130 years of tending this land, shaping its character, coaxing extraordinary flavours from rich alluvial soils.

Inside the limestone cellar door, the atmosphere is warm and grounded, the sort of place where history feels tangible, not distant. Sunlight spills through wide windows, brushing over bottles that tell the story of generations—Bernoota, Arthur’s Reserve, bold Cabernets and deep Shiraz that have earned their place among Australia’s most celebrated reds.

Lunch unfolds in the contemporary dining space, a gentle fusion of modern elegance and rustic charm. Each dish is crafted with local ingredients, vibrant and expressive—food that pairs effortlessly with the estate’s wines and with the unhurried mood of the afternoon. It’s the kind of meal that encourages you to linger, to savour, to pour another glass simply because the moment deserves it.

The view from the table is pure Langhorne Creek: vineyards turning golden in the sunlight, the Adelaide Hills rising softly in the distance, the air scented with earth and ripening fruit. You feel as if you’ve stepped into a painting—quiet, expansive, deeply comforting.

For travellers arriving by helicopter, Lake Breeze is not just a stop along the way.
It is a pause.
A breath.
A place where the world moves slower, flavours deepen, and the pleasure of being exactly where you are becomes the experience itself.

Here, among vines shaped by wind, water, and devotion, your HELI LUNCH becomes a moment worth returning to—again and again.
